Jennifer Moses was born in the mid-west, yet spent most of her childhood in Virginia. She received her B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991 and shortly after moved to New York City. While immersing herself in the cities’ art scene and working part time as an artist assistant in Soho, Jennifer painted large abstract landscapes in a studio just north of Canal Street.
In1994, Moses relocated to Ojai, California. Over the next several years and while renovating a historical 1909 Greene and Greene bungalow, Jennifer explored many art mediums including fine art photography, ceramics and various aspects of design before focusing once again on painting. With a renewed focus on the landscape and impressionism, she sought out CAC Signature Artist, David Gallup for further study.
Moses was juried in as an artist member of the California Art Club in 2010 and was selected to be a signature member three years later. In 2014, during the 103rd CAC Annual Gold Medal Exhibition, Jennifer received the Edgar Payne Award for Best Landscape for her painting “Blushing Twilight”. She was subsequently featured in the July 2014 issue of Southwest Art Magazine. In 2017, Moses was showcased in a solo exhibition at Del Monte Fine Art in Carmel where she released her newly published book, “Lit From Within”. Moses has exhibited in various galleries and museums including: Pasadena Museum of California Art, Autry Museum, USC Fisher Museum, Carnegie Art Museum, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and Frederick R. Weisman Museum.
