Bill Farnsworth
Bill Farnsworth has spent more than 40 years as an illustrator and fine artist. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut in 1958 and a 1980 graduate of The Ringling School of Art + Design, Farnsworth painted landscapes of his rural surroundings in New Milford, Connecticut almost his entire life, while supporting himself and his family with a successful illustration career.
Farnsworth is a Fellow in The American Society of Marine Artists and a Signature Member of both the Oil Painters of America and The American Impressionist Society. He has garnered awards of excellence from the Oil Painters of America's national and regional shows, including Best of Show at their 10th Biennial National Show. He also won the Dickinson Signature Member Award for 2018-2019 at The American Impressionist Society National Show. His paintings have been included in numerous other national shows, as well as in museums, private collections, and art publications.
“Through intense observation we begin to feel empathy for our subject and, from that, comes understanding,” the artist says of one of his lifelong mottos.
Farnsworth currently resides in Venice, Florida with his wife Debbie. He is represented by Hughes Gallery (Boca Grande, FL), Reinert Fine Art (Charleston, SC), Gallery 330 (Fredericksburg, TX), Waterhouse Gallery (Santa Barbara, CA), Palm Avenue Fine Art (Sarasota, FL), and Gingerbread Square Gallery (Key West, FL).
