Shanna Kunz

Shanna Kunz of Ogden, Utah is a naturalist painter of the landscape that surrounds her, interpreting the quiet and familiar places of the American West. “As a contemporary landscape painter, my work is a conscious play of mood, light, and color,” the artist says. “But as someone raised and rooted in the diverse landscapes of Western America, a painting means more to me than a location. Each place is an encounter with the land, the trees, and the waters that have always given me a sense of connection and order.”

Kunz’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries, museums, and juried shows nationwide — including at the Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale, the C.M. Russell Museum Auction, The National Museum of Wildlife Art, the Salmagundi Club, and more — and she has won several Best of Show awards for the honest and complex beauty they exude. Her work has also been featured in numerous art publications, including Art of the West, Western Art & Architecture, PleinAir Magazine, Southwest Art, Western Art Collector, and Fine Art Connoisseur.

Kunz is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, a member of the Oil Painters of America, and an out-of-state member of The California Art Club. The artist was invited to exhibit at the Catalina Island Conservancy’s Wild Side Art Show & Sale in 2021 and 2022 and has been a guest on the Artful Painter podcast.

Kunz owns and operates an online art school called Inspired to Paint. She is represented by Mockingbird Gallery (Bend, OR), Montgomery-Lee Fine Art (Park City, UT), Turner Fine Art (Jackson, WY), Kneeland Gallery (Ketchum, ID), Illume Gallery West (Philipsburg, MT), and A. Banks Gallery (Missoula, MT).
